Our connected curriculum has been written carefully considering where to position the experiences, skills and knowledge we believe our children need, in order to be successful on their learning journeys. Progression documents underpin our Curriculum document and ensure that learning is sequential and builds upon what has been taught before.
Our Contexts for Learning are drawn from high quality texts which form the base of the English curriculum. These themes are not set in stone and continually evolve to meet the needs of our children. The structure of our curriculum has been carefully thought through to maximise links between subjects.
Acquisition of basic skills
We value the acquisition of basic skills as we see these as the scaffolding for all learning. These skills are vital for enabling all pupils to access the whole curriculum and to enhance future economic and social wellbeing. It is the responsibility of all staff to teach and extend the basic skills in Mathematics, Reading and Writing.
A fundmental part of our connected curriculum is the experience of new things and supported challenge.
In pursuit of both excellence and equity, Christleton Primary School is committed to providing all children with experiences that underpin and expand on their in-class education, increasing their range of skills and knowledge and giving them a richer tapestry on which to build.
