Miss Thompson and Miss Maddison, our lovely teaching assistants, also works within our Year 1 class.
Useful information
PE Days (your child will require their PE kit to school) and Forest School Days (your child will be required to wear their Forest School kit).
During the Summer term we will have Forest School on a Tuesday and PE on a Thursday.

Context for Learning
Our theme for Autumn term is 'Where My Feet Take Me'.
Our theme for Spring term is 'At the zoo'.
Our theme for Summer term is 'Going on a Journey'
English
We will be enjoying texts under the theme of 'Going on a Journey' such as 'Toys in Space' and 'Goldilocks and Just the One Bear'. We will be focusing on:
Using to use capital letters and full stops, some question marks and exclamation marks
Joining words using and
Using the prefix un-
Adding suffixes to words, including -ed, -ing, -er and -est
Science
In Science, we will be looking at 'Animals Including Humans'. We will be identifying different types of animals and learning about growth and change. We will also be using our working scientifically skills to observe and classify.

Maths
In Maths we are looking at place value. We will be focusing on number formation and numbers to 30.

We know that the best possible learning experience a child can have is when school and home work together to build on and develop existing skills. We appreciate the amount of time parents give to supporting their children's learning and hope that the documents below help you to help your child.
