Context for Learning

Our current ‘Context for Learning’ is A Walk on the Wild Side.  We will be looking at a range of physical features of the continent of Europe and identifying the human features of some countries.  We will also compare these with our local area.  We will discuss settlements and land use.  There will be a focus on rainforests in one of our English texts which we will link our art work to with a focus on Henri Rousseau's jungle themed pictures.  Our second English text will focus on the caves of the Peak District.

Supporting at Home

Parents are the biggest influence on a child so it is hugely important that we work together to support each other.

Supporting your child with their reading, learning times tables and homework has a huge impact. This is hugely appreciated.

We encourage parents to take the time to talk to their child about what they have done in school and show an interest. Also, to become involved in school life by checking the school website, following Twitter and reading the school newsletters.

Parents can make a huge contribution to the school by supporting the PTA and attending events such as the Christmas fair.

Remember we are here to support each other so we encourage you to contact the school and speak to the class teacher if you are worried about anything.

During the first two weeks of summer term 2 children will be taking part in the MTC - multiplication tables check, further details about this can be found on the attachment below.

Useful Documents

The documents below will be updated to provide you with current information about the learning taking place in class. There may also be additional resources to support you and your child.

You will also be able to access the Meet the Teacher PowerPoint from September.
