Context for Learning
Our current ‘Context for Learning’ is One World.
Over the summer term, we use two main texts to support this context for learning. The children will read 'The Paper Bag Prince' and 'The Hunter'. These texts are used as inspiration for the other subjects the children study.
Our summer topic will be an in-depth look at the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings settlement of Britain and the impact they have on our lives today.
Please see the class letter and knowledge organiser for further information on our curriculum coverage.
Trips / residential visits
Although we don't have any trips planned for summer 2022, we hope to hold a Saxon Day where the children will be able to experience some aspects of life in Anglo-Saxon Britain.
Photos will be shared on here and on Seesaw.
PE Days (When your child will require their PE kit)
Tuesday - gymnastics
Thursday - outdoor games
Supporting at Home
Parents are the biggest influence on a child, so it is hugely important that we work together to support each other.
Supporting your child with their reading and homework has a huge impact and is hugely appreciated.
We encourage parents to take the time to talk to their child about what they have done in school and show an interest. Also to become involved in school life by checking the school website, following Twitter and reading the school newsletters.
Parents can also make a huge contribution to the school by supporting the PTA and attending events such as the Christmas fair.
Remember we are there to support each other so we encourage you to contact the school and speak to the class teacher if you are worried about anything.
The documents below will be updated to provide you with current information about the learning taking place in class. There may also be additional resources to support you and your child.
You will also be able to access the Meet the Teacher PowerPoint from September.
